As part of the celebrations for Rudolf Steiner’s 150th birthday, Maren Stott (eurythmy) and Prof Paul Robertson (violin) have been invited to perform Bach’s Chaconne for violin solo, performed in the Great Auditorium of the Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland, 6.30 pm, Sunday 27th February, 2011.
Invitations to perform this icon of Western art help to keep this project alive. We are happy wherever possible to introduce the event, acknowledging the stimulus for the interpretation from Helga Thoene’s (Düsseldorf) researches (www.helga-thoene.de). This professor of the violin and musicologist discovered the 12 hidden chorales and many other things that Bach included in his composition. Eurythmy offers the opportunity to express Bach’s comprehensive, holistic vision, which includes a personal story along with this celebration of his transcendent faith.
